Murray J. Costello

Founder and Managing Director, Pineapple Nation Ltd. (UK)

Mr Costello has 10+ years’ experience in Business Development and Management, spanning areas of CRM, marketing, operations and sales, with an educational background in Mechanical, Operations and Maintenance Engineering. He currently acts as Co-founder and Managing Director for Pineapple Nation (UK).

Professor Stephen High, PhD

Professor Emeritus of Biochemistry, University of Manchester (UK)

Prof High has 40 years’ scientific expertise investigating the mechanisms of membrane protein synthesis. He was Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Manchester (UK) between 1999-2022 and awarded both a BBSRC Professorial Fellowship and a Wellcome Trust Investigator Award in Science during this time. His outstanding contributions to the field are honoured with Emeritus status.

Professor Terence Lewis, FRCS MBE

Chairman, Peninsula Medical Foundation (UK)

Prof Lewis served 30+ years as a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon and Medical Researcher, holding positions as Chairman (Plymouth Marine Laboratories, Peninsula Medical School), Director (Heartswell House, Plymouth Hospitals), Governor (Plymouth University), Trustee (Plymouth Marine Laboratories, St Luke’s Hospice, Plymouth Medical Foundation) and Founder (Project Equinox). His awards include an MBE and he was the UK representative to the EU Initiative for Artificial Hearts.

Professor Joen Luirink, PhD

CSO, Co-Founder, Abera Bioscience (SE) & Department Head, Group Leader in Molecular Biology, Vrije University, Amsterdam (NL)

Prof Luirink has 35+ years’ experience as a scientific Group Leader at Vrije University, Amsterdam (NL) and is an expert in bacterial protein synthesis, bacterial protein production platforms and vaccine and antibiotic development. He has acted as co-founder, CSO and Board member for Abera Bioscience (SE) since its spin-out from Stockholm University.

Professor Richard Zimmermann, PhD

Professor Emeritus of Medical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Saarland University (DE)

During his 40+ year scientific career, Prof Zimmermann’s research significantly advanced our understanding of how proteins are produced in cells. During 1995-2019, he acted as Professor of Medical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Saarland University (Germany). His outstanding scientific contributions are recognised with granted Professor Emeritus status in 2019.
